3 Great Examples of Content Created During Quarantine

Like nearly everyone on the planet, I’m struggling with the coronavirus stay-at-home order. Loneliness, boredom, and anxiety are just a few of the emotions I’ve been dealing with on a daily basis during. To manage it all, I’ve been getting lots of exercise, keeping in touch with loved ones, and baking (like every other friend on Instagram).

To cope with this crazy new world, I’ve also been consuming more content than usual. It’s been a source of entertainment but also a connection to the outside world when I’m here, alone in my apartment.

If you’re looking for a source of entertainment or ideas to inspire your own creativity during quarantine, check out three of my favorite pieces of content that come out during the coronavirus pandemic.

 1. #BossBitchFightChallenge

A cast of incredible females, badass moves, and heart-thumping background music make the #BossBitchFightChallenge worthy of multiple rewatches.

Directed and produced by stuntwoman extraordinaire Zoë E. Bell, the challenge brings together fellow stunt performers and actresses like Halle Berry, Margot Robbie, and Cameron Diaz for a fast-paced, knock-em-down social distancing brawl. Though seamlessly pieced together, each section appears to have been shot on an iPhone, which only enhances the grittiness of it all.

This video reminded me of my own badass potential, even during coronavirus.

2. The Window

This is a brand new podcast, and though only two episodes in, I’m ready for more.

The Window” tells the stories of everyday people dealing with the pandemic. Rather than use an interview format, the podcast hands the microphone over to the subject of each episode, letting them introduce themselves, share what’s on their minds, and talk about their challenges during the coronavirus.

As someone who’s working comfortably from home, I found it interesting to hear from others who are working on the frontline or struggling to keep their business going.

3. Stay Home Take Care

I’m subscribed to three newsletters, and Girls Night In is the one I look forward to most. The newsletter/community has always been about chilling out, enjoying time alone, and self-care. When coronavirus took over our lives, Girls Night In quickly delivered what’s it’s dubbed a “social distancing care package.”

The Stay Home Take Care is a website packed full of resources to help readers just deal and take care of themselves while staying inside. From mental health to entertainment, there’s a link or quick tip for that. The resources are carefully curated, and it’s super simple to navigate and find the content that appeals to your mood.

Some of my favorite discoveries have been Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon’s “Staying In” podcast, a recommendation to make a gratitude journal, and this easy-to-make focaccia recipe.

As we’re all spending more time indoors, content is becoming more important than ever to inform, connect, and entertain us. I can’t wait to see how creators will continue to take their content to the next level in this social distancing world.
